| POP UP VIDEO FOR |
| You are the One |
| theme song from the series Sitcom a sitcomTM |
The music video for You are the One actually doubles as the opening credits for
the series Sitcom, a Sitcom. (Many believe this might be the first time ever that
a situation comedy uses a music video for its opening credits.) |
The video
was shot at Television Internet studios in Los Angeles and on location for the series Sitcom
a sitcom. (But the set of Sitcom appears nowhere in the video.) |
At the video's beginning, the bed sheet that Justin Chase is
sleeping under is actually Italian fabric for a curtain. (The producers wanted Justin's
bedding to look like that of a successful producer.) |
To have the men look sexy, the producers dressed the guys in
Versace shirts. (And just in case, the producers also had the guys leave their shirts
unbuttoned.) |
After one the producers saw the actor who plays Giovanni Messina
dancing a 1970s disco style at a cast party one night, the producer decided that Giovanni
had to do that in the beginning of the video. |
The blue
jeans, denim shirt that Brandy Dubuffet wears at the horse stables was a last minute
addition by the producers. (They wanted her to look more like a cowgirl.) |
| The blue corduroy shirt worn by Justin Chase at the horse stables is the same 1970s cowboy shirt worn by the producer's father while shooting at that time All in the Family. |
No cowboys or cowgirls or horses appear in Sitcom. (The
producers just chose the location because cowgirls and cowboys are sexy American images.) |
The producers had Sarah Louise Porto appear in several
dramatically different looks (men's jacket, cowgirl, beach chic, French pink-shirt
ingenue) to appeal to men's different desires of how they like their women dressed. (The
producers thought the men's jacket worked the best.) |
The picture montage depicting the full casts were shot
intentionally to have three different themes. Those themes in the pictures are
"sexy" (with skin showing), "corporate" (shown here in black jackets),
and cuddly (surrounded by pillows). |
| For Giovanni Messina's pictures, the producers had Giovanni wear several distinct looks. (But despite what he wore, they centered his photos around his abs and eyes, for obvious reasons.) |
| For Penelope St. Andrews, the producers wanted her to appear flirtatious consistent with her character. (The shaking of her head actually gave the cameraman seasickness.) |
| The producers were concerned that the pan up Sarah Louise Porto's butt over to Justin Chase's blue eyes was far too sexual for family programming. (But, they kept it anyway.) |
| People say the pan to Barth Silvermanarian holding the crystal water glass reminds them of the show Dynasty. (Barth actually is never seen drinking water in Sitcom). |
| The red shirt that Barth wore was actually owned by the producer. (The producer last wore it to his 10th grade prom.) |
| Barth stands above the ocean at the same place that Jim and Ryan filmed Muscle Beach. (However, Jim and Ryan almost never wore shirts in their show.) |
| The cast voted Foxy Manowsky as looking most different in the video than in the actual show Sitcom, a sitcom. ("Foxy" is a term used to describe someone as sexually clever. Her boyfriend Barth would agree.) |
The bra that Brandy is dancing in the video actually has
rhinestones sown on it. (The rhinestones were sown on while Brandy was not wearing the
bra.) |
| To the shock of the ladies during the shooting of the video, the gray plastic pants the Giovanni Messina wore were not flame retardant. (At one point, the women were concerned he was getting so hot they might have to call the Fire Department). |
The producers agreed that the free form dancing section of Brandy,
Sarah, Justin and Giovanni was the cutest part of the video. (Many people prefer someone
who is cute over someone who is sexual.) |
The video took over two weeks to shoot, encompassing over four hours of coverage. There were in total over fifty clothing changes from beginning to end. |
